Pain got worse. Think it's being caused by elbow inflammation, but not sure. Rob spoke to the doctor-on-call already, who didn't say much except that I needed to be on stronger pain medication. Tania and I are home as of late this morning. I was able to stay through the night with her in her hospital room in a very uncomfortable recliner and even managed to get a few hours of sleep. Just talked to the nurse at Union Memorial. I'm confirmed for Monday. She added a note on my file that I'm a tough stick and 22s need to be used instead of 20s. So that made me feel a bit better. Also, I'm going to be inpatient for at least a day at Union Memorial for the wrist surgery Monday. Let me know if any of you want to visit me, and I'll get your cell numbers to Rob, who'll likely call you if/when I'm feeling up to having visitors.

Saw the hematologist today. Found out two things, one good, one bad. The good news is that my high platelet count isn't likely to be indicative of anything bad. My official diagnosis is (here's a shocker) inflammation. I'm so exhausted and have to go out again at 4:30 to get my tires replaced. Then, book club tonight at 7. And just got back from what was supposed to be my final pre-op doctor's appointment to find out that I need to see a hematologist because my platelet count is high.
